Watching the body cam footage…
This is exactly why I say the body cam footage does not tell the whole story. It simply can’t.
I’ve said this about every case about police officers. And will continue to say it.
They did what they were trained to do.
A social worker and mental health expert can tell you that the power struggle alone is reason to question, the fact she was apologizing for being ocd, the fact that she could not compose herself (she was not making that crap up), the fact that she was even old to begin with (she was trying to control what she thought she could)… were all signs that she was not the assailant but the victim but because they were trained to go based on facts at hand… “the facts” told them otherwise. What they should have done was done the protocol no matter what and brought them down to the prescient to give her a safe environment to talk because she knew he was within ear shot.
The scariest part of all… was the realization… that could have been me…
